What is Wudd?
Wudd is a marriage app for Muslims around the world who want to marry. Every day at 12:00 you get up to three introductions, chosen for your values, when you want to marry and where you live. After you both say yes, you talk to one person at a time.
Is Wudd a dating app?
No. Everyone you are introduced to wants to marry, and you talk to one person at a time. See how it works.
Who is Wudd for?
For Muslims anywhere in the world, aged 18 and over, who are seriously looking for marriage. The app is in English and Dutch, on iPhone and Android.
Who is behind Wudd?
Wudd is made by Eayni in Utrecht, the Netherlands. We build the app ourselves and check every new profile.
Introductions
What happens at 12:00?
You receive at most three introductions, each chosen to fit what you told us: your values, when you want to marry and where you live. You answer each with a yes and a note, or pass. If we cannot find three people who meet your wishes that day, you get fewer. We never send someone just to fill the number.
How are my introductions chosen?
On three things you set yourself: your values, when you want to marry and where you live. Follow every step from 12:00 to nikah.
Is there an algorithm?
Yes. Software picks your introductions from what you told us you are looking for. Our team checks every profile before it can be introduced.
Why do I sometimes get fewer than three?
Because we could not find a third person who meets your wishes that day. We would rather introduce you to one person who fits than to three who do not.
Can I search or browse myself?
No. You see only the people introduced to you at 12:00, and only they can see your profile.
What is a “yes with a note”?
A yes on Wudd comes with a few lines from you, so the conversation starts with something real to answer. A yes waits seven days for an answer.
Conversations
What happens after a mutual yes?
One conversation opens, with 48 hours to talk. New introductions pause for both of you. If you both want to keep going, you have a week to call inside Wudd, by voice or video.
How many conversations can I have at once?
One. As soon as you both say yes, new introductions pause for both of you.
What happens when the 48 hours are up?
You each choose whether to keep going. If you both do, you have a week to call inside Wudd. If not, the conversation ends and your introductions start again.
What does a wali see?
A woman can give her wali his own Wali log in. He always sees the big steps, the profile of the man she is matched with, and the meeting. He reads the chat and joins calls only if she gives him access to them. He can never write, be seen or heard, or decide anything. She can take his access back at any time.
Verification
How do you verify profiles?
Our team checks every new profile before anyone sees it: the photos, the selfie and the answers. A woman’s photos and selfie are checked by a woman on our team. Profiles that do not meet the bar do not go live.
How long does verification take?
Usually less than a day. If it has been longer, email us at info@wudd.be.
Why are photos blurred?
A woman’s photos are shown softly blurred until you both say yes. Until then, only she and our team see the original photos.
Can I show my ID?
Yes, once, from Settings, if you want to. You get a second tick on your name, and your yes is shown ahead of yeses from members without an ID. A woman’s ID is checked by a woman on our team. The picture of your ID is deleted once our team has decided, and we never keep it.
Account
Is my data safe with Wudd?
Your profile is only shown to the people you are introduced to, never to the open internet. We show no advertising, do not sell your data and keep it in the EU. The privacy policy has the detail.
What if I am away for a week?
Use Pause introductions in the app. New introductions stop both ways: you get none, and you are not introduced to anyone. Conversations you already have carry on, and the 48-hour clock keeps running.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. Your profile, photos, messages and internal grades are removed as described in the Privacy Policy. You can also email privacy@wudd.be and we delete your account for you.
