Terms of Service
The short version
Wudd introduces Muslims to each other for marriage. These Terms are the rules of that introduction. In plain words:
- You must be 18 or over and free to marry.
- One account per person, and it belongs to you alone.
- There is no password. Signing out is safe and changes nothing; deleting is final, and we cannot bring an account back.
- The whole path, from the first introduction to agreeing to meet, is free. Premium is optional and adds room, not access.
- Premium is sold by Apple or Google, it renews by itself, and you cancel it in your store account, not in ours.
- Be honest and be decent. We remove people who are not.
- We check phone numbers, selfies and profiles. We do not run criminal record checks, so take the same care you would take anywhere else.
- Dutch law applies, and your own consumer rights still apply wherever you live in the EU.
This summary is not the contract. The sections below are.
1. The contract you are entering
These Terms are an agreement between you and Wudd, Ru Parelaan 199, 3527 LJ Utrecht, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 42136139. When we say "we" or "us" we mean Wudd. When we say "you" we mean the person using the app.
By creating an account you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data and forms part of this agreement. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
We write these Terms in English. If we publish a translation and the two differ, the English text is the one that governs, but you may always write to us in Dutch or English and we will answer in the language you used.
2. Who may use Wudd
To have an account you must:
- be 18 years or older on the day you create it;
- be legally free to marry under the law that applies to you;
- use Wudd for yourself, not on behalf of another person, and never for somebody under 18;
- not be required by any law to register as a sex offender;
- not be someone we have already removed from Wudd;
- not be resident in a country, or listed on a sanctions list, that would make it unlawful for us to serve you.
We may ask you to prove your age and may remove an account where we cannot satisfy ourselves that you are old enough.
3. Your account
You register with a phone number verified by a one-time code, with Sign in with Apple, or with Sign in with Google. There is no password anywhere in Wudd: whichever of the three you chose is how you sign in again.
- One account per person. It is personal and cannot be given, lent or sold to anybody else.
- Your key is your key. Anybody holding your phone and your SIM, or your Apple or Google account, can reach your Wudd account. Keep them secure and tell us at once if you lose them.
- Signing out is not deleting. Signing out leaves everything exactly where it is, and you sign back in the way you registered. Deleting is final: the account cannot be restored, by you or by us, and registering again starts a new and empty one. The app says so before you tap it.
4. What Wudd is, and what it is not
Wudd is an intentional matrimonial service, and its design is deliberately narrow: a few introductions a day, one conversation at a time, a note with every yes, and a clock on every stage. The narrowness is the product.
Wudd is not a guarantee. We introduce people; we do not promise you a match, a reply, a relationship or a marriage. We do not act as your representative, we do not negotiate on your behalf, and we do not arrange marriages. What another member tells you about themselves is theirs to tell, and beyond the checks in section 5 we do not verify it.
5. Verification, and what a verification mark means
- Phone. An account registered with a phone number is verified by a one-time code sent to it. An account registered with Apple or Google has no phone number on it until you add one in Settings.
- Selfie. Every member takes a selfie during registration. A trained reviewer compares it by eye with your photos so we know the photos are of you. It is never shown to another member. No facial recognition and no biometric template is used anywhere in Wudd.
- Identity document. Showing a passport, identity card or driving licence is entirely voluntary. It earns a second mark on your profile. The picture is deleted the moment a reviewer decides. Nothing in the app is closed to you if you skip it.
- Reviewers. Every profile is read by a person before it can be introduced to anyone, and edits after that go through the same queue.
Giving false information, using another person's photos, or showing a document that is not yours is grounds for removal.
A verification mark means we checked one specific thing. It is not a character reference, it is not a background check, and it is not a promise about anyone's conduct or intentions.
6. How the app works today
- Introductions. Three profiles a day, chosen for you, six with Premium. They are yours until the day turns over at noon.
- Saying yes. A yes to somebody new carries a note you write yourself, so nobody ever receives a bare tap. Saying yes back to somebody who has already written to you needs no second note. A yes waits seven days for an answer and then lapses quietly.
- Saying not for me. That person never appears in your introductions again. They can still reach you once more, but only by saying yes to you and writing a note, which arrives in your envelope rather than among your introductions. If you turn down somebody who wrote to you, you stay out of their introductions for about three months.
- One conversation at a time. This is on purpose, and it is the heart of the app.
- The conversation. It runs for 48 hours. If you have both written, it moves on by itself. If one of you never wrote, you are both asked whether to continue and have 12 hours to answer; if either says no, or the clock runs out, it ends without fuss and without naming anyone.
- Calling. You then have a week to speak, by voice or video, inside the app. Calls are carried live and are never recorded. A call of at least 90 seconds carries you on as soon as it ends.
- The second question. If the week passes without a call, you are both asked once more whether to continue, with 24 hours to answer. Two yes answers carry you on; anything else ends it.
- Meeting. The app then helps you agree a place and a time, and reminds you an hour before. Bring somebody with you.
- Photographs. A woman's photos are shown softly blurred to men until the two of you have matched.
- Blocking. Block somebody and neither of you appears to the other again. A block outlasts the other person's account: if they delete it and register again on the same number, they are still nowhere near you.
These numbers are how Wudd works today. We may tune them as the community grows, and the app will say so when we do. A change of this kind will not take away something you have paid for; where a change is material, section 17 applies.
7. Your wali
You may create a code and give it to a guardian. He sees milestones only: that you matched and the first name of the person, that a call has been agreed, that a meeting was agreed, and whether your photographs have been verified. He is not told how long a call lasted. He never sees the contents of your conversations, and you can revoke the code at any time, which ends his access immediately. The choice is yours alone and nothing in the app requires it.
8. What we expect of you
Do:
- be honest about your age, your situation and your intentions;
- write to people the way you would want your own sister or brother written to;
- keep what you are told in a conversation to yourself;
- report anything that should not be here.
Do not:
- lie about who you are, impersonate anyone, use another person's photos, or run a profile for somebody else;
- harass, threaten, insult, stalk, or keep contacting somebody who has said no;
- send sexual content, nudity, violence, hatred, or anything unlawful;
- ask for money, gifts, investments or crypto, advertise, recruit, sell anything, or use Wudd for any commercial purpose;
- screenshot, copy or publish another member's profile, photos, voice notes or messages anywhere;
- remove, undo or attempt to defeat the blur on another member's photographs;
- collect other members' information, scrape the app, use bots or automation, or interfere with our servers or security;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
- create a new account after we have removed yours.
If you do any of this we may act under section 12.
9. What you put here
You keep ownership of your photos, your words, your voice notes and your messages.
You give us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and process them only in order to run the service: to show your profile to the members you are introduced to, to make the blurred copies, to deliver your messages, and to let a reviewer check what the rules require them to check. The licence lasts while the content is on Wudd and ends when you delete it or your account, apart from copies in backups that age out and anything we must keep under section 12.
We do not sell your content, we do not use it in advertising, and we do not use your photographs or your conversations to train artificial intelligence models.
You promise that what you upload is yours to upload, and that it breaks no law and no other person's rights. Ideas or suggestions you send us about the app we may use freely and without owing you anything.
10. Our app
The name Wudd, the logo, the design, the words in the app and the software itself belong to us or to our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app as it is meant to be used, and nothing more.
11. Safety, and what we do not check
We check phone numbers, selfies and profiles, and reviewers read every profile before it is introduced. We do not run criminal record checks, background checks or checks against sex offender registers, and we cannot confirm that anybody is free to marry.
You are responsible for your own decisions and your own safety. Meet in a public place or with a chaperone, tell your family where you are going, do not send money or share financial details, and be wary of anybody who pushes you to another app or platform. Report them instead.
We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, inside the app or outside it. Section 18 sets out the limits of our responsibility.
12. Reporting, moderation and appeals
- Reporting inside the app. Every profile and every conversation has a report button, and you can block anybody.
- Reporting illegal content. There is a form at wudd.be/report, and Settings has a row that opens it. Anybody can use it, member or not, and no account is needed. It asks what the content is, where exactly to find it, why you believe it is unlawful, and a name and an email address so that we can answer you, and it asks you to confirm that what you have told us is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We confirm that we received it, and we tell you what we decided. You can also write to info@eayniapp.com, but the form is the faster route because it reaches the queue a reviewer works through.
- Who looks. Reports reach a trained reviewer. A reviewer opens a conversation only where a report or a legal duty makes it necessary.
- What we can do. Take down a photo or a piece of text, end a conversation, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend an account, remove it permanently, and where the law requires it, inform the authorities.
- What we tell you. If we act against your content or your account we tell you what we did, how wide it goes and how long it lasts, the facts we relied on, whether any automated means were used in reaching it, whether it rests on these Terms or on the law, and how to challenge it. We tell you this unless the law forbids us.
- Appeal. If you think we got it wrong, write to info@eayniapp.com within six months. A different person reviews the decision, free of charge, and answers you. Where safety and the law allow, we hold off on anything irreversible while an appeal is open. You can also go to a court, and to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body where one is available for this kind of decision.
- Repeat behaviour. We suspend people who break the rules repeatedly, and, after a warning, people who repeatedly send reports that are obviously unfounded.
13. Wudd Premium
Wudd is free for the whole path: introductions, saying yes, the conversation, the call, and agreeing to meet. Premium is optional and adds room rather than access:
- six introductions a day instead of three;
- all of them on one screen instead of one at a time;
- the whole list of everyone who said yes to you;
- your yes arriving first in the other person's list;
- filters that go deeper: work, country of origin, values, and when somebody wants to marry;
- being seen in another city of your choosing;
- being hidden, so you appear in nobody else's introductions while still receiving your own.
Prices. €18 for one week, €32 for one month (€8 a week) and €60 for three months (€5 a week). Prices include VAT. The app shows the price the store will charge you, in your own currency, and that is the price that counts. If the store cannot be reached the screen falls back to the euro figures above, and you always see the store's own confirmation before you pay.
Who takes the money, and who owes you the service. Payment is taken by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and for the payment itself, the invoice and the refund the store is your counterparty. Your card details never reach us; what reaches us is the confirmation that you bought, which plan, and until when. The service itself is ours. If Premium does not work as described here, that is our responsibility and not the store's, and section 18 says what you can ask of us.
Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each term, at the price then in force, unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the term ends. The store takes payment within the 24 hours before a term ends.
Cancelling. You cancel in your Apple account settings or in Google Play subscriptions, and the app links you there. We cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf. Cancelling a first term before it renews stops the next renewal and does not shorten the term you bought.
Once a subscription has renewed by itself, Dutch law lets you end it at any time with a notice period of no more than one month, and we will not stand in the way of that. If the store will not give you that, write to info@eayniapp.com and we will settle it with you directly, including paying back the part of the term you did not use.
Withdrawal. As a consumer in the EU you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for a distance contract. That right falls away only once the service has been fully performed, and then only where you asked us to start at once and said that you understood what that would mean. A subscription that is still running has not been fully performed, so inside those 14 days you can still withdraw and pay only for the days you used. Ask the store first, because the store takes the money, and write to info@eayniapp.com if the store does not help you. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you.
Price changes. We may change prices for future terms. The store will notify you and ask for your agreement where the law requires it. A change never affects a term you have already paid for, and you can always cancel before it takes effect.
When Premium ends. The extra features stop and you continue as a free member. Nothing you have written or agreed is lost, but what only Premium showed, such as the full list of people who said yes, returns to one at a time.
If we remove your account. Where we remove or suspend you for breaking these Terms, we do not owe you the remainder of a paid term unless the law says otherwise. Where we end your account for a reason that is not your fault, ask the store for a refund of the unused part and we will support the request.
14. Suspension, and ending your account
You. Delete your account at any time in Settings, without giving a reason. Deletion is final, for the reason given in section 3, and what it removes and what survives is described in the Privacy Policy.
Us. We may suspend or remove an account where you break these Terms, where we reasonably believe you are a risk to other members, where you turn out to be under 18, where the law requires it, or where we discontinue the service. We tell you and you may appeal under section 12, unless the law or a real safety risk prevents us.
Sections that by their nature should outlive the account do so, including the licence for content still on the service, section 18 on liability and section 20 on law and disputes.
15. While Wudd is being tested
Wudd is in a testing phase and is available to a limited group. During that period features may appear, change or disappear at short notice, the service may be interrupted, and we may need to clear test data, which we will tell you about before we do it. If you are a tester, keep other testers' profiles, photos and conversations to yourself, and send anything you find to info@eayniapp.com rather than publishing it.
16. Availability and changes to the service
We aim for a service that works, not for one that never stops. We may take the app down for maintenance, change how features work, and add or remove them. We will keep Wudd in working order and supply the updates you may reasonably expect of a service of this kind, security updates included, for as long as Wudd is available, and no change will take away something you have paid for. If we ever discontinue Wudd altogether we will give notice in the app, ask the stores to refund the unused part of any Premium term, and delete what we hold as the Privacy Policy describes.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms, for instance when the law changes, when a feature changes, or when we have to close a loophole somebody is using.
Where a change is material we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the version and date at the top of this page will move. Until that date the present Terms are the ones that apply to you.
If you do not accept the change you may end your agreement with us before the date it takes effect, and where you had paid for a Premium term that is still running we will see that you get back the part you did not use. If you keep using Wudd after that date, the new Terms apply. A change we must make at once for a legal or a safety reason takes effect immediately, and we will say so and why.
18. Our responsibility to you
We owe you a service that matches what these Terms and the app's description promise, in line with Dutch law on digital content and digital services. Where it falls short, tell us and we will put it right; if we cannot, the law gives you a price reduction or the right to end the contract.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for intent or deliberate recklessness, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Dutch or EU law.
Beyond that, and as far as the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit;
- we are not liable for the words, conduct or acts of another member, in the app or in person, because those are that member's own and not ours.
We put no figure on our liability and we ask you to give up no remedy the law gives you. Where a limitation in this section would be unreasonable under Dutch law it simply does not apply, and the rest of the section stands on its own.
19. Your responsibility to us
If you break these Terms or the law and that causes us a loss, you are liable for it under the ordinary rules of Dutch law. We ask nothing of you beyond that, and nothing in this section takes away a protection you have as a consumer.
20. Complaints, law and disputes
Complain to us first. Write to info@eayniapp.com. We answer within 14 days, and within one month for anything concerning your personal data.
Law. Dutch law governs these Terms. If you live elsewhere in the European Union, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country still apply to you.
Courts. Disputes go to the competent courts of the Netherlands, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.
Authorities. For a complaint about your rights as a consumer you can go to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, through ACM ConsuWijzer, or to the consumer authority of your own country. For a complaint about your personal data, go to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the authority where you live.
The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform closed in July 2025, so there is no European online form to use.
21. Other terms
- If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
- Not enforcing a rule on one occasion does not mean we give it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours if the service moves to another company, without reducing your rights, and we will tell you in the app before it happens.
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Wudd, and replace anything said before.
- Our single point of contact for members and for authorities is info@eayniapp.com, in English or Dutch.
22. If you installed Wudd from the Apple App Store
These additional terms apply, and Apple requires them:
- This agreement is between you and Wudd only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its contents.
- Your licence to use the app is a non-transferable licence to run it on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses are our responsibility.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or by a third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Third party terms. You must comply with any applicable third party terms of agreement when using the app.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- Questions, support and complaints about the app go to info@eayniapp.com, Wudd, Ru Parelaan 199, 3527 LJ Utrecht, Netherlands.
23. If you installed Wudd from Google Play
Your download and any purchase are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is the seller for Premium and handles payment and refunds under Google Play's refund policy. Google is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the app.
